The overall objective is to focus on the transformation of the different kinds of waste generated in the agriculture and agroindustry production chains in various types of energy or by products, aiming at the development of a low carbon sustainable production model.
Activities: (2015 - 2017)
The activities proposed are the following:
a) Strengthening of the policy framework to promote sustainable production schemes and implement low-emission technologies in target sectors;
b) Potentiality of energy production and other forms of waste valorization in target sectors;
c) Laboratory research for target sectors identified in previous stages is carried on for technology development, adaptation, assessment and transfer;
d) Demonstration of the feasibility of production of energy by waste which improve the reduction of GHG emissions, low emission waste treatment plan and energy generation in full -size production processes in the targeted sectors.

Co-benefits:
Social: | Information has not been provided |
|
Economic: |
* Value is added by turning waste into a valuable product
|
|
Environmental: |
Controlled waste disposal
Depending on the technology used, by-products can be used as fertilizer and this way reduce the negative impacts of chemical products |
